I think we should all start planning now. For those that actually want to go, we should start getting a list together. I think we need to figure out who's going to drive, who's gonna fly and what not.
I'm planning on going but I'm not going to drive by myself. I'll be flying, unless someone wants a co-pilot, then I'll front half the gas money.
Anyone else in for sure? |

Wish I could say I was. I don't think I'll be going this year, as much as I want to. GF wants to go to cuba. |

The date is set for the weekend of September 27th. The best way to go about it is get there friday so you can get settled in and I'm sure go out and party on friday night with some other rotorheads. For those that have never heard about sevenstock, it's the biggest rotary meet in north america. Held at the Mazda Plant in Irvine Cali where they bring out past race cars for display and it gives you a chance to mingle with about 5000+ rotor heads from around the world and check out all the vendors. It'll be a great time if you have the slightest intrest in the rotary.

I'm close to booking my flight down there. Anyone else still thinking about going?
If you book now through west jet, it's only $144 each way. So only about $300 for a round trip and another $200 for the 2 nights in the hotel.
I'm seriously considering the caravan down there. The meet is in in BC (not exactly sure where just yet) and then we drive through Washington, Oregon to get to Irvine. |
|
|
| Transporter |
let me know hat you deicde
if you decide to fly might as well get tickets together
and if you decid eto drive.. i need to know exact details of how many days off are we a talking? |
|
|
| GT45 |
Well I've been looking for other guys from western Canada driving down with the BC caravan. But I haven't had any luck yet. Money and time are a premium for me so I don't think I'll be driving down because of gas.
As for the actual trip itself I'm using airmiles and leaving on the 26th and coming back on the 28th. I only have those days off from work by fluke and can't take anymore off for vacation. I think the drive down there is about a days worth straight from Edmonton at 2,814kms. Longer if we meet up with the BC guys.
I can let you know what my flights are if you're serious about coming. I'm not sure how picky I can be with airmiles schedualled flights. But I'm for sure going. I'll be booking my hotel room this weekend. |

| Yeh, I'm out for sure. One day..... |
|
|
| Transporter |
ryan i am done
and i can probably tickets through air miles as well
which place are you considering for hotel
if you give me town name you want the hotel in i can see what kinda discount i can pull.
so sep 26 to 28
did you want to split hotel or do u want a room to yourself |
|
|
| Transporter |
west jet doesn't fly to John wayne airport
through expedia with hotel and all taxes you are looking at 815 dollars.
so split the hotel with some one and save 105 dollars |
|

I'm down for sharing a hotel room. I'll try to keep it down if I bring some rotary whores back for the night.
As for the trip I'm booked to leave at 7am flight 4234, transfer in san fran at 9:02 flight 5224 to santa ana and be in Cali by 2:18
The return is for the 28th. I got a later flight leaving at 5:05pm. That transfers in denver and back in town by 12am.
I can get all the specs if you want. And here's the info on the hotels:

Awesome! Now I've got a drinking buddy to pick up some rotor-whores with. I hear they're different than regular whores in the sense their nipples are like little triangles. |

A big thank you to all of the Rotorheads who will be headed to SevenStock XI! Thanks to SoCalRX Club, Volunteers, Rotary Vendors and Mazda of course, for letting us borrow their parking lot for our annual event.
Here's the basic plan for the morning before the event gets under way.
First and foremost, all SevenStock Crew members will be wearing these:
*PLEASE FOLLOW THEIR DIRECTIONS AS INSTRUCTED, THANKS!*
The only Entrance to SSXI is to enter Gateway Blvd on the South side, from Alton.
Gateway is CLOSED on the North entrance, ALL DAY.
You will then make a left hand turn to this BIG parking lot we have borrowed for the day as well!
Parking will be according to generations: Old Schools, FB, FC, FD, and RX-8s. There will be a handful of volunteers to assist you in staging here at this lot, please do not run us over! This lot is not for you to act like an @SS, burnouts, speeding, slalom, etc ... Irvine PD will be staffed at the event, and we will not hesitate to point them in your direction, so PLEASE act accordingly.
****IMPORTANT!!**** ONLY LINE UP HERE IF YOU CAN STAY UNTIL 2PM!! WE WILL NOT LET ANYONE LEAVE THE SHOW AREA UNTIL 2PM! NO EXCEPTIONS!!! CARS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MOVE UNTIL AFTER 2PM! Park in the "Non Rotary" area if you are leaving before 2pm! THANKS!
SevenStock will officially begin at or around 9am. When that occurs, please listen to our parking volunteers!
Cars will head out to the show area, in a single line, around this building.
***Cars are backed into the parking spots, if you lack this ability, please practice this week, until you are able to do so. If you are taking 10mins to back up in a spot and holding up the line, it is not cool.*** |
