Any thoughts on this program?
Nait
Currently finishing up an Accounting Diploma, and being an accountant is not really what I picture myself being.
Still deciding whether to head straight into the work force after getting my diploma or work on getting either an accounting degree or this new enterprise management degree.
Money is not much of an issue as I have rental income which is enough to support me through school but I really do feel an urge to start making more money.
How is the job outlook with just an accounting diploma? Will the diploma get me very far or am I better off biting the bullet and getting a degree? |

personally I would bite the bullet. if you're not totally digging the accounting route then I would do a post-diploma transfer to the university of lethbridge... they have a campus downtown. the thing to know about accounting is if you work in a firm you'll get paid peanuts until you have a designation... you may have a chance to earn 35000-45000 if you go industry but you will eventually plateau in wage increases...
I majored in accounting at nait and did the transfer to the u of l and i'm glad I did. Depending on your pre-reqs you might qualify for a major in finance or you could always do a general major. Plus it's only another 2 years. |
