Friday july 4th Rx7 Meet - Click HERE for Original Thread

3rdgen1
So how many can make it to this comming friday for a RX7 meet?
sothgate upstairs by safeway 730 last meet was very good turn out lets make this one even better :D

Cheemoney
sure i'll just get mine towed there :D . hopefully have her back together next month?

godofice
im there
and chris whats wrong with your ride?

Cheemoney
ahaha read the groat road crash thread.

godofice
oh shit man, that blows... when you hope to have it on the road again?

Cheemoney
well i need a truck. so i can strip my friends car for panels and then tow it all to reflections cause one of my parts guys is friends with a dude there so i don't have to wait for an estimate. probably have to wait for repairs. or maybe that's just the norm. never been to a repair shop. so then i also get my friends rad and electric fan and air intake. probably have to jack the coolant resevoir and washer fluid resevoir and little itty bits of plastic. oh and the bumper too. not the styrofoam pieces though, those are still good. i'll probably have to get a new rad support cause that is spot welded on. journeyman said it'd probably be about $100. but yeah. whats with cody's car? i'd say come pick me up when you pick him up but i'm not a legless midget and your FC don't have back seats.

edit: oh and to answer your question, hopefully next month? have the frame straightened (its not that bad, the frame is fine just the right well is a little bent in, and it looks like it's had frame work before too). but realistically next 2 months?

godofice
cody is waiting to get a new starter, or maybe something bigger is wrong with his car, we are trying to figure it out lol... yeah i could pick you up and throw you in the trunk :P

RotaryJunkie13B

brakes and shocks are the easiest things to do on an rx7. with a fully equiped shop i guess :p

RotaryJunkie13B
i unistalled and installed my suspension with hand tools in under 2 hours.

brakes are easy.. sometimes

Ammo
i was just starting out so i needed a little nudge in the right direction. also i have ADD so a 2 hour job takes me like a week on my own lol

MORE THE ROTORS.

Cheemoney
how were the rotors giving you trouble?

side note, anyone know a girl who drives a RHD black convertible FC? sounded pretty fierce.

I don't know who it is, but I've seen it driving around. Kinda looks like it wasn't taken care of very well.

theres two screws that hold the rotors on usually and if there rusted or shit they give a hard time.

i dont remember the tool we used to get off those two screws. its a type of impact screwdriver you hit with a hammer. made it no problem lol. ive had more problems with the damn calipers than anything else

Cheemoney
you mean an impact driver? yeah those make life alot easier. but i know what you mean. i've had to deal with those screws before. what i usually do is take a ratchet and the philips bit (make sure its a perfect fit cause anything smaller or bigger will obviously strip it) and i just give a good swing with the ratchet and they usually come out. or a journeyman at work showed me with a hammer and a brass punch over the screws usually loosen them up good enough then use a screwdriver.

i'm not sure about the interior of the vehicle. all i know is that i heard the exhaust turned my head, and was suprised to see a chick driving it. and yeah, it totally didn't look like it was taken very good care of.

update: started stripping my friends car for parts for my rx7. turns out the pieces weren't as good as i thought they were :( . looks like i'm forking over cash for new panels and bumper cover.

Ammo
cheemoney, if u need some parts u can come over and see if u can find what you need on my parts car
