New to the market and hoping some of you guys/girls have some advice on buying a GPS for car and foot travel. Looking for a good one that will be versitile in every major city in the world (ie. downloading maps).

just bought Garmin Nuvi 250W for 220 bucks at Best Buy, seems pretty good so far. Has a SD Card slot, I think you can download maps for it :dunno: haven't tried it yet. look online

garmin or tomtom. the new tomtoms are out, and are pretty cool. the old ones are on sale, like the 920. comes with maps of europe too.

I just bought the new Magellan Maestro, and the thing is awsome, Set home addresses, favorite addresses, sd slot for uploading/mp3/movie whatever. my favorite so far.

I've owned Tomtom/ and a garmin.

I just bought my wife a TOM TOM One XL and it seems to work quite well
