| hey guys weird problem here, i drove my 88 crx from the garage it's been parked in to my house like 2 days ago, it drove all the way just fine no problems, when i went to start it yesterday i get full power on key up to everything as soon as i go to turn it over i've got nothing, load tested the battery and it's fine, threw the charger on it for good measure anyway still nothing, i'm getting a 17 flash code on the ecu which apparently corresponds to the vss, highly doubt this has anything to do with the no start and i thought the vss was only on newer automatics, i've also heard that it can stand for bad ground, i've got a solid battery to tranny, battery to frame and battery to block. any ideas? |

First thing I would check is can you jump the starter manually?
connect a wire from the positive feed to the starter to the switch on the starter MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT IN GEAR, better yet get someone to sit in the car with the clutch in. See if it turns over, if it does then its something in relation to the ignition / starting system anywhere from the key to the wire that switches the starter on.
If it doesnt, id check the starter / connections out. |

| lol yeah it'd be an alright idea to make sure she's outta gear, i'll have to give that a shot, i was thinking the ground switch on the clutch may have burnt just telling the car not to start period, i fkn HATE electrical problems, thanks though i'll go hit the starter with a hammer and then try jumping it direct |
