| 2 speeding tickets from 2.75 years ago make it so my insurance won't go lower than 200 at the moment. At the end of august it drops to $90. I figure fuck it i will wait until spring because if i wait until august i have 1 more month of drivingl. Engine is being pulled, car is being mostly parted out. Haven't made up my mind yet if i am going to sell the entire leather interior 94+ center console etc. That interior could make me $2000 alone... I am really tempted to turn it into a track car that i drive on the street lol. |

| Tyler don't get it twisted I'm not bashing the club it was a general statement about participation we could do a short shifter install for a day or some shit it just seems like no one is interested in meets or cruising we need participation like you said I have been to a few this year but usually after we meet it goes to shit I would love to have all of cruise to sylvan for a day or cruise anywhere we need to do something its pretty weak when the only preludes that turn up to uc are me and adam. i don't want to start anything, its just im getting sick of people saying the club sucks, where is everyone, etc. and most of them are people who don't even come out. in order to have permission to bitch, you have to at least attend meets. its not like we are going to get 10 active members overnight who attend every meet. people just need to start making appearances. even if we say make a sylvan lake cruise who would show? to make my point we could schedule it, and see what kind of numbers we get. i wouldn't be holding my breath for a huge meet though. I just want to know what I need to do in order to get people to come out. what would make people want to make it every friday? something isn't working, and i would like to find out what it is. even when we make a meet thread, 6 people say they will show and 3-4 cars come out. maybe we should move to 1 big meet a month, and maybe some side meets like sylvan, paintball,wing night etc. but that 1 night a month everyone should be there, and roll into UC together to show people "hey, there still is a prelude club" lol. |

I am still down for going to meets. I just won't be driving a car :lol: I have no problem jumping in someone elses car. I have been attending UC meets for about 3 years doing that. Each year it has turned out that i drive for 1/2 the season and catch rides for the other 1/2. This year it was about 1/3rd of the season but that doesnt mean i am not down for doing what i have already been doing. :thumbup:
I am free this friday so if someone wants to let me hop in their ride i am down. HOWEVER, you guys better be planning on hanging out at UC. The one good prelude meet we had this year we hung out at UC for most of the night. I had to leave at 1:30am but at least some of us made it until the first cruise. We rolled up with 5 ludes to UC. |

The winnipeg prelude club underwent the same degradation, from having 20-30 cars at meets to only 6 core members. I was passionate about it during its hay day (doing photoshoots, monthly meets, models, shows) etc... but i learned i can only be as motivated as my members to keep it going... so to avoid polarizing this issue about the size of the club or about what we did and didn't do with the decline.. we just kept having events and gradually we had new members join.. i think our facebook page helped a lot as not many people were checking the forums... it will never be the same size as the haydays when F&F came out... and for me after growing up was more into modding my house then car (less depreciation haha)
personally i would avoid making it a honda club unless you're going go full out and get all the civic/s2k groups to buy into it.. which i doubt they will do as it may segregate their groups more.. i tried to merge a few honda groups together to give all more exposure... but all i got was a bigger group of unmotivated people :P
dont know if ive offered any solutions but hopefully you can learn from what worked and didnt work for us |

I've noticed though that 95% of the people in the car club world (not just ours) are ignorant, rude, unaccepting and pathetic. Personally i'm tired of the whole idea of all this car club shit. Ours, and others. I highly doubt that even when I get my new car i'm going to join any clubs cause it really isnt worth it. I was going to put more effort into this club, but why? this is such a shit storm, i will clean it up tonight. bottom line is the club is suffering. it has been for the past 2 years. fact of the matter is the prelude is getting old. more and more are getting sold/ junked/ written off/ etc. The few core members we have have been keeping the club going for a long time hoping new members would join and we could have a respectable club again. nothing like it was, noone is expecting that, but a solid 6 members a meet every friday is what we were aiming for. we have had a flood of new members this year, and they are still rolling in. hell at the bar the other night for ferry corsten me and ryan tried to recruit 2 5th gens and they both seemed interested, but after taking a quick look at the boards, i wouldn't have been surprised if they split. we are giving ourselves a bad image. some minor things have to happen to make the club work.
1. attend meets.
2. attend events
3.recruit ludes you see.
thats basically it. i think we need to tone down main UC meets to 1 a month. then everyone has time to schedule around it, and there would be no reason not to make it. for the rest of the month we could do a wing night say every 2nd wednesday or something, or even just playing pool at a pub, paintballing, etc.
Everyone knows you can't attend every meet. noone wants to attend every meet. we do have other lives lol. So maybe once a week is too much for the time being. especially with a small member base. The main thing that irks me is we have 15 official members, and over half Ive never seen. Why would you sign up to not participate. I can't get my head around this. anyways next meet we can talk all this over.
Nathan- Mike has been around a long time. Longer then me to be honest, and yes he used to run the club. He moved off to vancouver for awhile and just came back. He did come to a meet at the museum this year but it was small. me/ryan/mike/cody. that was it. He went through the same thing running it i have.
When members don't seem interested, it is hard to get enough motivation to do something. Everytime I make a meet thread, or event thread I know the result for the most part. some meets surprise me with 6 people or so, but not many.
Maybe next friday we can do a classic air museum meet/ UC cruise. even head to BP's on jasper after and get all this shit sorted out. I will make a meet thread for it.
like I said too i will be deleting most of this thread tonight. |

agreed. the size of the club doesn't matter. the only time it makes a difference is car shows and other events. its hard to enter a club with 3 cars on display. otherwise it still works well. |
