For Sale: Nikon D60 + 18-55mm lens - Click HERE for Original Thread

NATO
Hey guys,

Up for sale is my Nikon D60 body and 18-55mm lens kit.
Purchased a little over 3 months ago for $769 + tax, I have all the boxes, paperwork, warranty card and everthing else included in the kit I purchased. The camera has approx 800 shots on it, so it has LOTS of life left in it (D60s are rated to approx 65,000 shots)

Included in the sale:

Nikon D60 body + cap
Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR AF-S DX lens with front and rear caps

Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL9
Quick Charger MH-23
USB Cable UC-E4
Camera Strap
Body Cap
Software Suite CD-ROM

Asking $625. I have it listed for more on Craigslist and Kijiji, but I figured I'd give you guys a deal. Think of it as saving over $100 on a nearly brand new camera that's been gently test driven. I've taken great care of this camera and am only selling because I have deal lined up on a D80, which will suit me better for the photo shoots and weddings I have lined up.

Any questions, post here or send me a message.

ok totally a beginner at this looking for a good starter slr camera wondering... is this it?

I've read a lot of reports about the D60 being an excellent starter camera. It's light and easily portable, offers a lot of features that someone new to SLRs will find very helpful, and leaves the door open for future upgrades to different lenses.

If you check the link ozzmodan posted, you can read the final conclusion page to get their breakdown.

From DPReview.com

quote:
...great output that's easy to achieve even for a total novice, thanks to an excellent exposure and metering system; fast, responsive operation; excellent ergonomics and an easy to master feature set that is just sophisticated enough to allow users to explore the more advanced aspects of photographic technique without being so over complex they can't be bothered. It's easy for a camera reviewer with access to the latest, greatest high end gear to get snobbish about entry level cameras, but we all found the D60 to be a camera that's incredibly easy to like and one that's surprisingly enjoyable to use.

...it's still one of the most affordable cameras in its class and it represents the perfect 'upgrade' camera for anyone who has outgrown their digital compact camera and is looking to dip a first toe in the world of the digital SLR. Its output is consistently good (the JPEGs are excellent and its raw files have lots of dynamic range headroom), it's a pleasure to use and, handles well and weighs very little. And as I've stressed throughout this review, it makes getting pleasing results incredibly easy.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
