well i did some calling/ visiting and got some issues on the prelude worked out.
I went down to AFI today with the quote from transform and martin said no problem. take it in and he will cover the bill 100%. also since there is no competent tuners around, i booked dyno time. im in on the 23rd, and im shooting for 400whp. i will be happy around 380ish though. hes going to install my turbosmart dual stage boost controller, injectors, 3 bar map sensor, and get it going. im hoping everything goes as it is supposed to. i left a message for the neighbour about the quote for the other side. i will post once i hear back from her. hopefully in 2 weeks i have a 400whp monster. almost sounds too good to be true though :P
nothing really gets me excited about the car anymore lol. |

yah but every month you drive it more the lower it gets. in the end it is a civic, not a collectors car or even a sports car. Within 5 years that car will be worth very little compared to now. Probably less than 15k and you paid 30.

lol, its been quite the journey to get the car where it is. 2 years and $20k later and this is where it sits. making power in a honda is quite expensive :p
im just hoping everything goes well and i don't throw a rod or something on the dyno tomorrow. 400hp should be mind blowing once traction starts :) |

BUT. he is still trying to correct everything and i will give my final verdict when the car is back in my hands. Ive been through a lot with them. ive been dealing with martin about the same car for 2 years now. lots of bad, some good too. he is probably the best fabricator in town for a performance shop. i love my exhaust/ dumptube/ IC piping. but i will hold back until everything is done. then i can give a honest review about my whole ordeal. |

well update....
i went in there at lunch today to check on progress. truth it there was none. old injectors still installed, old map sensor installed, nothing changed about the car at all. martin was out on a parts run so i couldn't talk to him. car looked it was judt pulled into the shop. its sitting on the dyno side, and even if he is getting parts for it right now im still pissed. he told me he was working on it sat night, as well as fri night. obviously not the case.
this puts me in a really bad spot. i have a insurance adjuster supposed to come look at it tomorrow at the house so they can cut me a check to get the rear fixed. thats obviously not going to happen..... |

| well i went in at lunch again. car was just being strapped down. should be ready by the time im off work. he predicts around 15psi on pump gas and mid 300's for power. i would be happy with that for awhile. pump gas limits what kind of boost you can run. and with some of the shitty gas in edmonton right now, 15psi is a safe level. i could probably push 17psi, but we will see. heres hoping to some decent results. |

my car was at 240whp at 7psi. i should net around 360whp on 15psi. the highest my car has ever been was last summer at 9psi for 277whp. i will be spinning all through 2nd and part of 3rd at 15-16psi. more then enough for the street. i could always do a c16 tune and see like 25-30psi haha. i would need a bigger turbo to make it worthwhile though.
only reason im not running more boost this time around because im being conservative on pump gas. anything higher and i would need to run race fuel. i don't want to tune on husky 94 due to it not being readily available. i don't want to limit myself to a few select gas stations. |

well i did a surprise visit when i got off work early at 3pm. it was strapped to the dyno at noon, but at 3 it was off the dyno parked in front of the shop. with no parts installed.....he looked surprised to see me. caught him with his pants down so to speak. i asked him what was going on and he said he had a mustang tune to do or something, and a employee hadn't installed the parts yet on the prelude ( 30mins max to do injectors and map sensor) . kinda hard when the car isn't in the shop too. he still told me it would be done tonight, but i highly doubt it. one thing after another. i don't really want to get it tonight anyways since its wet out and i would end up writing it off more then likely with new power levels, but still. i don't understand why its so hard to get people to actually work. |

| well a problem has arisen. martin said he went to start it and move it into the shop and when it was in reverse there was a really bad grinding sound, but goes away after a second. he then took it around the block and it does it at a half throttle stab, it grinds for a second and then hooks up like a axle is slipping for a second. im guessing the OEM LSD is on its way out. which sucks big time. Im going to have to start building a new tranny. if its really bad im going to have to get on it right away. if anyone has a h23 tranny lying around let me know. then i will have to price out a quaife and go from there. unless i run it open diff. but high power and open diff i won't go anywhere. opinions? its still getting tuned though. hopefuly it holds together. its not too bad yet, but i have no idea how it will progress. |

Hopefully it won't cost you another arm and leg. Does this turn of events throw off your tuning timetable? Think you'll have it all done by the end of the summer? |

its on the dyno right now, im just hoping it stays together. as long as the tranny holds i will have it back today. as for how long the tranny will last, i guess i will see. im talking to jdm source in calgary right now to see if they have a tranny in stock. worse comes to worse i run open diff this summer and install a LSD over the winter. |

i paid 1300 for my lsd tranny. a h23 tranny will be around 300, lsd is 1000, plus you have to take apart the whole tranny and get it installed. a task someone who knows what they are doing has to do. most likely i would go to honda to get it done if blaine still works there. it will probably be 500-1000 for the lsd install. i would also get new synchros. so basically a
oem lsd tranny- 1300
h23 lsd tranny- around 2000-2300. |

| tranny was a false alarm. i went for a rip in the car with martin and it was actually clutch chatter. the employee thought it was the diff, but no. didn't act up at all while i was in it. thats a hugh sigh of relief. but the injectors he bought don't fit in the fuel rail. wrong style. he either got sent the wrong ones, or ordered the wrong ones. not sure. anyways im on the lookout for injectors shipped overnight but it seems to be hard to get a hold of someone with some. waiting to hear back from a few shops about availability. |

| yep. f series fit too. h22 tranny has shortest ratios so best for na, h23 has longer ones. better for boost. |

| martin phoned me today. it was on the dyno but i had a substantial exhaust leak between the turbo and manifold. flanges arn't true i guess. anyways hes looking for a gasket and thats pretty much all thats holding it back. but i do have all the items on said list, haha |
