i have found 95 kawasaki ninja zx7r with 25000km

will i have to worry about finding a part?>??

CKXtreme
Man, with all these 7R's that keep popping up, I'm wondering if this is a sign... Time to convince the wife I guess...

Anyway, I owned one from 98-01 and they arent that hard to get parts for, although you're probably going to have to go to a Kawasaki dealer at this point (being the bike is 13 years old).

I never had any trouble with mine, but it was 2 years old when I bought it, and I only owned it for 3 seasons.

I loved my bike...

Anyway, to put price in perspective, here is one for sale here:

This bike is in great shape and has a good price, so depending on the condition of the one you're talking about, it could be a good deal. If the deal you're talking about doesnt go through, I'd probably hit this one up.

Personally I wouldn't own another old Kawasaki. In my experience parts were a bitch to get but my bike was ~10yo when I owned it. I have Honda bikes/quads now and there is no comparison for part availability.

Do it yourself. It isn't hard.

Respect the throttle, too much will get you into a lot of trouble VERY VERY fast. Welcome to bike ownership.

ptemomo
Do it yourself man. Its uper easy and all dealers are gonna rape you on it. Im not really mechanically inclined and still do all my maintenance on the bike. Way easier than a car. Get a shop manual, it will be a great investement for a older bike.

They do make synthetic but for an older bike I don't think it would be worth it, just go with Canadian Tire motorcycle oil.

As for the filter you will likely need to get it from a Kawi dealer. I would try phoning Canadian Tire first. You may get lucky.

Oh I had one more very important thing to ask. The guy that owned this bike had put fuel stabilizer so should I empty the tank and do fresh fill or just fill up with higher octain and burn it off

That depends, how long was the bike sitting with the fuel in the tank?

If it was just a few months or something I wouldn't worry as long as there was stabilizer mixed with the fuel.

You'll know very quickly if the fuel is bad as the bike will run like crap.

Congrats on the bike, when you get comfortable with it, come out to a track night sometime and learn how to ride it properly.. it'll make you a much better rider on the streets and help you learn your own (and the bikes) limits.

everything original and not a single crack on body

hay guys what would be perfect solution to clean bike chain??
last night i did oil change for bike my first time in my life it was pretty easy to do except i spilled oil all over my garage..
but had blast doing it, what do you guys use to clean and oil the bike chain??

CanuckDave
To clean the chain, use kerosene, an old toothbrush and rag to clean off the stuff you scrub out with the brush.

I like the Motul lube personally, I'm not a big fan of chain wax because silt and stuff can stick to it and gunk up the chain.

gjgud
well i went to canadian tire to buy kenresone stuff coun't find it
plus the auto part guy told me to use brake cleaner.. now where can i get that spary and mutol oil?

CanuckDave
You can get chain lube at any bike dealership, chain cleaner too, although you can get kerosene almost anywhere and it'd be cheaper than a specialized cleaner.

ptemomo
I use the Motul chain cleaner. It works great but a bit pricier than kerosene. MAxima Chain wax always worked great for me too. But im pretty anal and clean my chain quite often.
