Just finished my turbo project and she wont fire up. I'm using Megasquirt and spark v3.0. Everything seems to be right, has fuel, spark, and compression. just wont fire up.
Any MS gurus out there give me a hand and come take a look.

MS isnt e30 specific.

Could care less what people think of my car. Its just the EMS im looking for help with.

i have been working on this with him and it seems like its about to catch when its first turned over and then nothing.

it could be the cranking pulse widths being too short or the resets that he's getting during cranking.

are u using the stock sprak plugs and wires??? it could be the problem.

does the datalog show resets? whats your crank pW at?
coil on plug? timing set? and checked with a timing light?
i ended changing almost all my crank pw below 5 and fires up everttime....... until we hit winter......

The only time I see resets are from cycling the key from on to off. I'm not sure if im getting resets during cranking.
If you guys send me your email through PM I can send the msq and datalog of cranking.

It seems everytime I visit the car to try something new. the first crank over its seems to almost fire but doesnt, every time after the first crank I get nothing, just cranking.

I'm running a wasted spark setup, GM coils and stock trigger wheel and sensor.


I'm really not a software/EMS guy, more of a nuts and bolts guy so this stuff is over my head.

I was just told by the builder of the board that it has the flyback board on it. so I will have to change my PW values.

did u replace the timing belt ?? it might be the problem.

i didn't check your msq yet but i glanced at your log. Drop your cranking pw to 2.5 or 3 as i also noticed that you cranking pw is still at default. might run for a bit longer or keep runing.
Also check your base timing to see if you really are getting 10btdc.
my 2.5L always fires with low crank pw.

found out some more insfo from SRO_firefly1_0.
reflash your extra code by jumping the board with a wire.
then reload your msq's with short crank pw.
