I have to reattach an emblem to the back of my car, seems like some sort of adhesive was used before.
What would you guys recommend? I heard 3M Molding Tape was good. Any ideas where I could find that stuff? |

Hey
I bought Automotive Goo aka Automotive Goop I think...I bought the clear in case I make some little mistake while applying the badge...it also comes in colors like black
There is also 3M Trim Adhesive comes in a little tube...its like high strength rubber cement...I decided against it because I could only find it in black
I've also used 3M high strength outdoor double sided tape. That is how most new car emblems are held on.
Roll out a piece big enough...lay the emblem on it...cut away the excess with an x-acto knife. Kind of a pain when you get to the middle stuff...but nothing a new sharp blade won't do. Just don't get lazy when buying the clear and think you can skip on some of the cutting...you'll end up with yellowed dirty tape and that won't look so hot
Another important thing...make sure the tape is under ALL your emblem...no lift point this way...also use a wax & grease remover prior to
:)
Oh yah one more thing...I use painters tape as my guide...to make sure the emblem is applied straight lol
Canadian Tire...Princess...NAPA and such places stock the stuff |
