Suspension Q's - Click HERE for Original Thread

CWU
So a few of you know this is my first import, well first car really. Its always been trucks. In other words ive dealt with leaf springs and I beam suspension. Im wondering what you all recommend. Maybe some pros and cons. Im not really looking to lower it much. I dont need a drag suspension but something that would be great on a road track would be nice. Everything needs to be replaced because its garbage on there right now. Let me know what you think is best and stuff to maybe watch out for. Some one to deal with would be nice too

your best bet for performance would be a tein basic damper setup. its height adjustable for winter/summer but not dampening adjustable. and its pretty stuff. so if you don't mind a stiff i would get these. there probably what i will put in mine if i keep my car. or you go with the tried and true koni yellow with your springs of choice. will lower about 1-2 inches, and ride stiffer.

teins will run you 800 shipped give or take
konis and springs, 500-600 depending.

Tein basics are not stiff at all.. they are meant to lower the car and retain stock ride quality.. if you want something performance related Tein basics are not the way to go.

Koni yellows would be WAY stiffer then tein basics, it would be night and day, if you want to compare tein to koni, koni yellow would be equivalent to tein Super Streets, and koni red to tein basics.

That being said, my Tein super streets on hardest are quite stiff, but on softest its softer then stock...

heh, always thought the basics were pretty stiff. guess not. super street would be the way to go then.

Naw.. not from my experience... yes they are slightly stiffer then stock but thats the springs not the dampening.

Compared to super streets or konis they are like jello lol

Super streets are also double the price :P BUT that being said... totally worth the money. I've had 6 or 7 diff suspension setups and by far the nicest ride quality / performance has been these teins.

If you dont mind sacrificing ride quality for performance koni yellows etc.. are good, but i get the same performance and a way nicer ride with the teins
