Sherwood exhaust....... beware imports. - Click HERE for Original Thread

hontuner
So I called Sherwood exhaust to get my exhaust system made for my car. I told him it is for my car, I told him I need 3 to 3.5 inch pipe. He laughed at me on the phone and called me an idiot. Apparently there is no such thing as a car with enough power to flow enough exhaust to need something that big. "only diesel trucks are allowed to have exhaust like that". I told him my buddy has 4 inch on his gtr and he said that my buddy doesn't have 4 inch. Okay...... Cuz he would know. I said I didn't care and that I would pay to have it made and he said that they will not make it for me, and he hung up on me....

I have never ever been treated with such disrespect in my life by a company. What ever happened to the customer is always right? Or where it says "custom exhaust" on there sign??? They are terrible and I hope their shop burns down in the night.

"I hope their shop burns down in the night."

"for a small fee i can make it so, number one"

pm me if interested

arabian_ryda
hahaha man almost every company in this city has forgotten customer service. i cant remember the last time a shop of any sort automotive or industrial called me back like they would say.

hontuner
Haha ill give you a bag of peanuts and a half eaten loaf of bread to do the dirty work.

And Ryder, I couldn't agree more with you. It make you want to slap every person that works for them across the face. If I'm paying for the work that is done on my fucking car, you do what I tell you, no questions asked. Took it to park muffler and they took it in like it was a civic.

spiff_d
Seems like both Sherwood Exhaust and Park Muffler have good & bad stories. It's pretty disappointing that he treated you that badly.

I hate it when I have people call me, stating that we were supposed to get back to them and never did. Even though it wasn't nessacarily me who was supposed to make the follow up, it angers me that we're forgetting t contact the customer.

If it wasn't for them, we don't get a paycheck!

It really bothers me that an employee can say whether or not they want to put that on your/my car just because they won't like it or don't think it will do much. There is a reason the business was developed, To do this kind of work and satisfy customers. Where do you work?

Park muffler has gone down hill and there scamers, I have gotten lot's of work done there in the past and the last time it was crap and they tryed to milk me cause it was an import.
The lack of any good exuasht place in this city prevents me from having a fart cannon...sort win win.

Godzilla

Not when you're based on a commission like I am. This means I want my customers to return and buy more items from me over time for a good price. My way of looking at things isn't how much my customer wants to spend in one shot, but how much he'll spend over time. If he isn't pleased with my service, he isn't coming back.

Customer Retention is what pays my bills, with out it I'm broke.

RotaryJunkie13B
I've delt with park muffler a few time but never hard anyting bad to say.

I do want my cat cut out of my exhaust tho..

chopsticks
You need four inch exhaust why?????

Wolfdio
all the cool kids are doing it, he wants to buy his coolness too.

Haha here is the other half of my shitty day. I asked village to do it and they said that because I didn't buy the mufflers from them, it will sit till mid week whenever they get around to it!!!!

And I strongly recommend park muffler! They all stayed late to get my car done, they treated me like family and gave me a bunch of free t shirts after and he cut me a deal because I had to deal with idiots all day that turn down business because they don't think something should be on my car. I am going back there everytime now. We even did a bunch of test pipes to see what sounded best for no extra charge, I hung out with them in the shop while they worked on it. Really nice people and very good work.

hontuner
I said my mufflers are 4 inch out.

catlin987987
I have 3" turbo back
and I came across this
it applies to a srt 4 but:
From Vendor:
"You see gains with just about any set up. We have seen gains with the 4" on the stock turbo, GT30R, stage 3, and many others.

Is it best for the stock turbo, no. Will it perform better then the stock system, yes. The real gains are only noticed when you get over 480 WHP. The 3" systems seem to bottle neck the factory location (out the back dual tips) at this WHP number. We have swapped from a 3" out the back system to a 4" SEE system and picked up 7 WHP. Is that something to call home about? No, but they are gains none the less."

Ayeso
Similar gains were made on NA hondas... picked up 5whp going from 2.25 to 3... not a big deal but still it there...

That is exactly my point, if you plan on doing a build with the intension of building high wheel horse then why not have large exhaust?

Neo-Blue99GASE
Unless this guy is making huge hp, 3 to 3.5 can have a huge friggin difference. I honestly get tired of seeing all sorts of people believe that a bigger exhaust is better. This is so far from the truth its amazing. The better route is to go with a smaller exhaust, with mandrel bends and do some dyno runs to figure out what you want. Sure going from a 2.25" to a 3" on a civic is great, but what are you losing.. a huge amount of back pressure and less drivability because you just robbed yourself a large amount of torque, something that a civic has very little of in the first place. Now I assume that this guy did his homework and has this planned out, but the statement about 3 or 3.5" tells me otherwise because a half inch makes a huge difference in exhaust. That said, both those shops in the park honestly could give a damn about your car. I used to live there and I would never trust them with anything.. too many bad stories... and not nearly enough good ones.

catlin987987
I am guessing he has a turbo, if he does he probability has enough backpressure

Thegnome
(to Neo-Blue99GASE)
For an NA, yeah.

But for a turbo... Bigger is better right. Infact nothing at all is the best after the turbine.

But, cops dont like that.

Its a shame they gave you grief man. I've gone in there asking for small pieces of piping and shit telling them my bizzare projects and they've always been cool with me. Infact years ago I had them weld up a weird gearing project I had for my trials bike before I bought a welder. No hassle, did a good job.

Its too bad who ever it was you talked to was a moron. Anybody with half a brain knows what your doing.

Dan_s_young
Thanks for the advice.

I am going to be looking for a place to finish my 4" exhaust in the near future. Why because I am running a big turbo setup, on a rotary. Just wish I could buy a dump tip muffler and not have to order from Australia...

Wookey
Go see Atlas on 99st and 51ave. I've never had a problem there.

hontuner
I am twin turbo, so I have enough back pressure, and last time I checked for a turbo car the more flow the better.

speedster9110
The best shop I have dealt with for custom work is Tim's Muffler in Leduc. I have sent a few people ther and everyone comes back happy.

redx
been the sherwood about 15 times, good guys, good work, honest prices

darthluder

You obviously have way too much time on your hands if you can copy, circle and repost, aswell as ask stupid questions that have nothing to do with the thread.

GOT SE-R
I have always wondered about Sherwood Exhaust. Now I know. LOL. I swear by ALTA Custom Exhaust. They have been around for along time, they started out specializing in Muscle cars, now they have tonns of experience in imports. They have a picture book you can flip thru. I have 2cars in there. (at least I use to) lol.
