Where to take a Skyline fo OOP - Click HERE for Original Thread

AustinTurbo
So i talted to this shop two weeks ago and i booked my car in for an ou of province inspection there. He said i wont need a third brake light, daytime running lights, and corner marker lighs.

So i go to pick my car up and it has no mechanical issues but they said i need to change out my headlights, add more strenght to my stock bumper rebar, need front marker lights, third brake lights and daytime running lights.

Only thing i think is fair to add is third brake lights, day time running lights and maybe the corner lights.

I dont want to change out my headlight or want to welb more meter in my rebar.

The shop also tried to scam me with a thing or two but i cought them and i refuse to ever deal with them again.

I am hoping somebody knows a shop that is no so anal about this shit so if you know please PM me or post it thanks.

Why did you bother trying to OOP a car without even DRLs???

moronicicon
you have to have DRL or it will not pass, as for the bumper rebar, I am not sure but I think the bumper laws have been lifted. The guy at our shop is brutally honest. But I have heard through the grapevine that sherwood nissan deals with and stocks parts for skylines.

BLOCKER
I am not sure about the bumper rebar, However I have it on good authority that you will need to convert your head lights to DOT Honda ones (I forget the exact modle and year) add the third brake light and side markers in order for the JDM to pass the OPP...

From what I have heard, if your skyline has and aftermarket intercooler installed, that would have required the bumber to be modified, if that is the case, that might be what they were talking about in regards to the rebar.

Straightpipe
I heard that speedway performance actually sells a DOT conversion kit for skylines. You could just get a set of accord headlights, then put your skyline ones back in after the oop. It might not be legal, but at least your car will look good.

You don't have to worry about bumper laws with the 15 year old cars. That part of it is BS.

We have custom dot headlights for the Skylines in stock, PM me if you need them.
