Import concern review - Click HERE for Original Thread

XtraX
I won't go into a whole lot of detail here. I wrote a review in word and it was 2 pages so here is the short version.

-Dominic is a nice guy and I do not hold any personal grudges against him.
- Christian is a silent partner imo. I can't even be sure he is a real person.

My transaction with IC was far from smooth.

My car was modified after the sales photos in Japan and after I put my deposit down and with out my consent or knowledge. My aftermarket exhaust was swapped for a stock exhaust.

I dealt with AMVIC regarding my issues and it took almost a year to come to any kind of resolution. Which again IMO wasn't satisfactory.

IC brought in an aftermarket exhaust from an auction of my choice within a certain price range, but I was responsible for the install.

I would not have accepted this kind of treatment from any other dealer, if Koch, Lakewood Chevy or any other major dealer put me through something like this I would have had my car fixed within weeks and at no extra effort from me.

From what I was told by Dominic, this importing game is not as lucrative as it has been in the past and he wasn't sure how long they'd be at it. He did not feel it was warranted to compensate me for the installation of my exhaust and at that point we parted ways.

I don't import cars, nor do I sell them but if I could take this time to make a few points which I hope you will take into consideration.

  • Sales meetings and transactions should not take place at in a Tim Horton’s parking lot. Get an office, or come to my house.
  • Your invoices and documents do not currently protect you or your customers. Please supply your customers with better documentation through out the process. (Deposits, payments, contracts)
  • You should protect your customer not your exporter/supplier. They don't pay your wage. I do.

So as stated these are all in my opinion, I won't participate nor do I expect a pissing match to start.

I still may or may not buy from Import Concern again, but I do urge all who consider doing so to do it with caution and protect your self in every way possible.
