shitty JDM gauge cluster! - Click HERE for Original Thread

180drifter
So i put a used JDM gauge cluster (69,800km on the clock) in my 240sx, as the factory one from 1989 is not compatible with my sr20. All was good until it hit 69,999km and then the odometer and the trip odometer both stopped dead! Anyone have any ideas on why this would happen, or how to fix it? Would it be electrical or mechanical? I still have my old cluster, anyone know if i can swap the nessisary parts over if the problem is the cluster?

thx

I beleive '91+ 240sx clusters are the same as the JDM ones. I think. Although it picked a good number to stop on......... hehehhee 6's and 9's, yeah we like those in the same number. :D

They are the same exept for the redline, not that it really matters. The KA redlined at 7000 rpm and the SR at 7500 rpm.

It started working again! I went down the driveway in reverse and then it started to work again! Go figure.
