Holy crap, this has to be the single most sleazy dealership I have ever dealt with. Pretty much I went in to look at Vipers, already knowing full well I can't sit or test drive one, I'm just too young and the cars are too "fancy".

Anyways, all I want is a brochure. So I find a salesman and ask for one. Next thing I know he takes down all my information, okay thats standard practice. Next up, he has be sign the sheet saying I am who I am. Whatever. Then he goes away, I'm thinking to find me a brochure, but NO! He shows back up after talking to his sales manager with black sharpie scribbled all over my sheet of paper saying "Congratulations! You just bought a viper!"

I was like "yah fucking right" and left. I'm waiting for him to call me tomorrow to come in and pay for my car so I can tell him how sleazy he is.

Seriously, some people shouldn't be allowed to sell cars. If I want a viper I'll go to londonderry or ANY OTHER DODGE dealership in the city. Seriously avoid these guys at all costs.

Edit: This was so sleazy that I don't even have the salesman name or card. Apparently having it wasnt necessary?

I find alot of that hard to believe, I'am a salesman and I kow it doesnt work quit like that, what you sir did I bet was agree on a price you would pay(not thinking it was possible) and sighned and he went to see if it was ok with the salesmanager and you were just wasting the guys time that works on commission.

no, i promise you i didnt. i told him repeatedly i want a brochure and i never got it.

i work in sales too, and if i so wanted i could talk to a customer and be like "Well what if I could do this for 1200?"
"Uh well I dunno, I'm still out looking"
"1200 it is. I'll go write up the invoice right now" Yes, I work on commission. But I KNOW this is NOT the way to get sales.

Congratulations, you work in sales. That means everyone else must sell just like you.:dunno:

edit: and please dont tell me I cant afford a viper. ANYONE can afford a viper. Go get a bank loan, remortgage your house, etc. You do what you need to get what you want.

The best way to have a good experience at a dealership is to go into the dealership and be very well informed on the vehicle you are looking for. You should have a really good idea what you are expecting to pay and back it up. I bought my vehicle brand new in just 20 minutes and only one dealership. I also managed to knock down my purchase price by 3 grand.

I first made on offer and exactly what I wanted and he said no. Then I gave him the invoice price with all the incentives and I said now he can definitely do it. Next thing you know a deal was struck. I did put a clause in which my fiance' had to agree to the deal. So then I coached her to get more money off and she got an extra 500 off by herself. Gotta say when a sale is done and something might happen at the last moment to void the sale they will do anything to make it happen.

My two cents the blame can be put on the sales and the customer.

bwhahah I worked there for a little bit, and it was the most horrendous sleeziest place in the world... i felt like a dirt bag working there. I don't doubt your story one bit. the things we were taught and forced to do that blew my mind. unethical at best. I could spend hours telling stories of how they would just laugh at screwing customers over. we HAD to get every single person's contact info that we talked to and pretty much force them to buy shitty cars and also had to call them every single day until they told us to fuck off or came in and bought under pressure. no lie, they track it like dogs, and you do get in shit if you don't hound the crap outta people.
infact, the best part was, after I quit because my manager was a hobag and i hated screwing people over and the way things were done, they had the balls to tell me I was not going to be paid what I was promised on that check. so of course I told them were to shove their attitude and give me what I was owed. my ex-manager told me some crap about how he never really promised this and that and I could never prove it... I took them to employment standards and won... it was a great feeling, pissing them off after they tried to screw me
