I can only speak for myself but I find on a normal week since summer is nearing the end I will be followed for 1/2 to 3/4 of the way home from work. Is it only because I drive a decent looking car and come from the shityest part of town ( 97st-111ave) or not the best part of town. Or is it turely like the Police say is that we are "cracking down on you kids with these imports" Not that I even own a import or that being 25 qualifys as being a kid. Whats you veiws 1- they think I sell crack. 2- They dont like me ( only get a ticket 1 out 4 times) Or 3- Simlpy cracking down on custom car owners? Or does anybody else get this shity ass embaresing treatment as often as I do? I grew up in sherwood park and honest truth the RCMP out there were some pretty cool guys. They were also very polite untill you weren't, but holy Edmonton cops are somthing else.

Jim I agree it wasent the wisest thing to say but I think he should be given a chance to appologize, this being a public forum. I mean we sometimes talk out of impluse rather than rationaly, and we've all said dumb stuff before. So give him a chance for redemption before perceuting him if he really feels sorry for the post.

No appologiw needed. Should not even be given a chance. The guy is a piece of fuckin shit for saying what he said.
Poetic justice would be our friend Jim letting his brothers in The Park know what the idiot in the 98 teg said. |

wask i totally agree....what kind of human excrement would say such a thing? you really have some nerve buddy.....I think that 98 teg's IP should be banned from the entire board. comments like that should not be said on a public forum. if he is jusr banned for from the law enforement forum he can still post these kind of unbelievable things on other forums.
The RCMP that died in that collision was someones son, father, brother, sister, and friend. I think that we should let all of the above mentioned people know what 98 teg said and possibly where he lives. Not so cocky now asshole

Well I do apologize for what I typed, I know what I said was wrong, and it was uncalled for. I totally lost it and this post just set me off which is still no excuse for my actions. As well I never had wished something like this to happen to anybody, sorry if it came accross that way
I have pulled over in the park alot since I moved in. I got the ussual run down everything checks out and when I ask why I was stopped they have no responce or they come up with a lame excuse. Having been ordered to remove my tint and blue corners/signals by the rcs because my car posses a hazard what gives, people speeding blowing through red lights causing accidents because they cant drive and I get ragged on for cosmetic reasons, (tint 35%.) others cars falling apart literally as well as the amount of people driving without insurance. I did talk to one park rc after removing the tint. What he said shocked me, which I have very little respect for this officer. He told me that he would nickel and dime an sport compact driver because these people are street racers or drug dealers because their cars have colored lights, loud music, and loud exhausts his stereotype.
I know I should not say all rcs are pricks because of how I have been treated before. What I should have done is file a complaint with the detachment and handled it in a much more professional manner instead of this uncalled for outburst. Like I said before I do apologize for my comments and I will accect having my ip banned from from this site |

Your comment on the RC being hit was VERY uncalled for, and it doesnt matter who that person is or what profession he/she is in. NO ONE deserves to lose a family member, it hurts BIG TIME (trust me).
However like it was also said later that sometimes we all say things in posting that we say when we are pissed and dont really mean it. I belive that you may regret what was said, and that you have apologized publicly. Therefore life should move on. Just watch your smarta$$ mouth (or hands) when it comes to posting next time. Besides... there is always ways around banning.. and that doesnt really teach anything.. so in my $.02 I dont think that banning would solve anything.

Well atleast you came to apologize. And addmitted how stupid it was to say.
When the officer said he would pull over modded SCC it was no different then saying "I will pull over all black people" The sad thing is they can get away with this.
I live in The Park aswell but have never been pulled over. My car has no exterior mods, good thing cause I may have to become a drug dealer if I did.
Do you drive a silver teg by the way? |

Well I got followed by the RCMP in Red Deer this weekend.
I was grabbing a coffee at a 7-11 around midnight and a cruiser went into the lot checking me out. He then drove out of the lot and onto the street. I went through my car for a couple minutes throwing out garbage and stuff, and then when I pulled out of the lot, I noticed the cruiser parked on the side of the road with lights off. As soon as I passed him, he turned his lights back on and followed me all the way through town.
Honestly I was really pissed at the time, because I knew they were probably just wainting for me to slip up. I was worried about my "enlarged exhaust tip" to, so I was shifting at 2500rpm. The end of the story is that they never pulled me over and that's a good thing.
Yes I think they were harassing me (harass is too strong of a word though), but they never pulled me over or delayed me so I can't complain. |

I even got pulled over in her car for doing the speed limit on 170st at 2am for driving her car. The officer even told me I didn't look like a girl.

I remember driving by a parking lot. There was a cruiser checking out the businesses in the parking lot. He left the parking lot and followed me for about 5 or 6 blocks. It was about 2 or 3 in the morning, no traffic on the road and since I do not like being followed I slowed down to below the speed limit. He then pulled me over and asked me why I was driving so slow. I told him, he checked out my licence and registration and let me proceed on my way. I have also been pulled over in the downtown area on the stroll when the pro's used to frequent 106/107 st. Pulls me over and then tells me we now know who you are. Glad to hear it. Black male in the wrong place at the wrong time. Must have thought I was a pimp or something. What makes people(police) think that most black males are involved in drugs or prostitution. Another time me and a white male friend of mine were on foot in the same area of town and were stopped by undercover police. If I was a pimp or drug dealer the last place I would want to be, is where there may be a higher than usual police presence. Then again maybe the real criminals think there is safety in being where the police are.
My saving grace in any of these instances is I have always and will always be respectful to people in positions of authority. Honey/vinegar story. |

I get pulled over and followed all the time.
you get used to it when your car is as flashy as mine.
they're just doing their jobs, I realize, but it does get to be rather insulting after a while that just because I drive the car I do, I'm suspected of some wrong-doing.
And then, when I get pulled over, I have to be nice about it to boot. "No officer, I'm not happy you followed me across town and then pulled me over" "yes, I actually do have a full time job and I'm now late, thank you... would you like to escort me there and talk to my boss?". "I'm sorry officer, but there is no tint on that window, if there was, they're be a film"
sign. makes me want to scream. |

HI!! sooo you don't like being followed EH!....nor do I and it is the main reason why I have not tinted my windows and done the whole *RICE* package to my car.
I know that if I even do anything to it that I will get pulled over or followed far more than I have been by just more than cop's.
I have no problem with them if they follow me and get my plate number and keep near my assend till it is done being run through there computer, infact I much preffer having cops follow me now.
I don't know why ..but ppl really hate my car or atleast it seems that way, fags in dodges have come beside me and ask if I would like some soya sauce with my white rice(I am a white boy) then ofcourse spead away cuting me off.....I still don't know why they did that???
I have had very little problem with cop's pulling me over....most recently it was because of loud booming bass that seemed to come from my car, and before he was done the (DO U KNOW WHY I PULLED YOU OVER) speech he saw that I have no interieor nor any real noise making stuff.
So he just took a quik look at my licence and said TY and buggerd off.
Well for any of you who think that *THEY* are out to get you harras you and ruin your life.....forget about EH!, be happy it is not some doped up crazy SUPER PIMPIN drug dealer and his freinds who are looking for a car to jack or spit on or chase around.
Well I g2g ...so ya thats my rant..BE HAPPY |

I've been pulled over 5 times this summer. How many tickets? 1 speeding ticket, 15 over, which is fine. That's fair. The rest of the times I got BS reasons and 3 of 4 were just plain assholes. One even tried to bust me for being high(so you been smoking up tonight, I can smell the weed in your car). Then he said he smelt alcohol on my breath( I almost never drink anymore especially when I'm driving) which was BS.
Everytime I get pulled over the cops act like I'm their enemy. I like to mess with them by acting super nice, it really fucks them up sometimes. One cop took my license, registration, and insurance and told me to wait while he decided how many tickets he wants to give me(prick) and I flashed him a big smile and said thank you and not sounding sarcastic either. Haha, the look on his face was priceless. I guess he "decided" not to give me any tickets.
My biggest beef with cops is their attitude. They have this damn shield around them which makes them very unaproachable. I don't know if it's just because I'm young(22) and drive an import or if they act this way with everyone they pull over. I don't hate cops, I wish there was a neighbourhood cop that I was friendly with and I could take my concerns to. I don't live in the greatest neighbourhood, a lot of my neighbours cars have been vandalized, broken into, and stolen. I just don't trust them and I don't feel like they're on my side. |

The times change, but it's still the same....I won't comment how many years ago, but in the city I grew up in, the local RCMP officers all knew my car. A Chevelle with bluebottles, and the standard as "wide as I can fit into the rear wheelwel tires". I sometimes deserved to be ticketed.....but I was followed every second or third day. And had a "Routine Check" pullover every week or two. Which meant if you wanted to go crusin' on Sat. night, you had better be clean...as soon as I twitched the steering wheel when going in a straight line I was sitting on the side of the road offering the driver's license, registration, and insurance to an officer. Some of my buddies and I would bet each other how long it would take to get pulled over....the loosers got to buy coffee. (college students with no cash...)
After the Chevelle, I went for the sleeper look. And just beefed up the engine and associated hardware...the new car was actually substantially faster than the Chevelle. My driving never changed, but instantly I could go 4 to 6 months between "Routine Checks."
Ya the popular car of the day has changed from my youth, but things are still the same. If it looks like there may be a performance potential, and the driver is young....Expect to be followed and pulled over.
BUT from the officers perspective....it's probably safe to say that most driving offenses are from younger people. The officers were young once too, and I'll bet they were all not as law abiding in their youth. I'm sure that's part of the reason why they watch the youger crowd more than us old (not quite over the hill) farts. |

I hate to say this guys.. but if your not doing anything wrong.. WHO CARES IF THEY FOLLOW you.. have fun with it.. drive them around in circles all night.. I would go to a traffic circle and go around it 20 times just to see what they would do.. If they wana mess with you for no reason.. make it extreamly obvious to them that you know they are there. If they wana pull you over at 3:00am, its likley that your not really in a hurry to get anywhere anyway right ?
