Hey,
I guess ya can call me a noob on this board. I'm orignally from the TPC out in Toronto, but I've been curious to see what this club is all about?
I've been given a very reasonable job offer to come out to Edmonton from Ontario. My only question is, how is life out in the sticks? :D

Depends what you're into... The nightlife is getting better, but it's definitely not Vancouver or Montreal. Almost never any traffic, compared to T.O. Lots of green space, parks, trails. 7% TPS, gas is usually cheaper than elsewhere, taxes are fairly low. But the city is photo-radar crazy, and if the cops have nothing better to do, they'll pull you over for oversized muffler tip or tinted windows.
The rockies are fairly close, great for skiing in winter.

| cops r crazy and they have those windstar vans parked everywhere but if u see a van and right when u see the black photo radar, slam the brakes. It works |

I thought it seemed strange that every ON-LINE qoute requested that I fill in a form and mail it in - 4/6 weeks later I should have an answer... yeah, rrrrrriiight!
Apartments and Condo's seem VERY cheap out there... that's a good thing!
Last question, how for to BC (by car) is it from Edmonton? 4 hours? |

The BC border is about 4 1/2 hours from Edmonton. But there's really nothing near the border, on the BC side anyway. :)

Welcome Xman!
Why would we call you a noob? I'm originally from Ontario as well and have roots with the TPC. Look at me, I came out here and established the EPC with close to 40 active members.
Good luck with the move and we look forward to seeing you out at one of our meets.
If you have any questions about the club, feel free to contact me directly. |

Vancouver is about 14 hours away from Edmonton. Faster if you take the obscure northern route through Whistler rather than the trans-crappy highway. :D |
