Would you date your friend's x? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Scintillater
I know a group of guys, who've pretty much all dated the same girl.  Granted they didn't get overly intimate, or at all (I don't really know nor do I want to), but still...don't you think it'd be strange?  Personally, I don't think I could ever date my friend's x, number one, because that'd just be weird, especially if they ever had a long or serious relationship, number two, because we have completely different taste.  And at the same time, how would you feel if one of your friends wanted to date your x, be it a serious one or a casual one?  Would you feel betrayed, or would it matter?

i'd feel a lil betrayed
but only a little bit, i've gotten over all my exes so it's coo if they do, i'd like to see how things would go w/ my ex & my friend

k....let's say you're not betrayed...but isn't hte whole idea just kinda GROSS like SHARING someone almost?<!--emo&???--><img src="http://asianet.ca/images/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->  It's the whole Melrose Place Beverly Hills 90210 thing then!

if it's dating that one girl from a circle of well known friends, yes, i would feel weird also...they became their ex's for a reason. I'd think the result would be yourself branching off from the group. I don't think it would be an entertaining gathering if a roomfull of ex's PLUS the one she's dating to be present.

nah man it's not cool UNLESS he asks you then he's not breaking the code.. if he goes behind your back to do it chop his nuts. It'd still be kinda weird but that's only if you still have feeling for the ex or it ended kind of badly

i dont know...i just think she's dirty then......i would maybe just go out with her as a friend but nothing serious.....nothing long term...

Clem
there's a code between guys that says you don't go for a friends ex.

The only exception is if she was a slut and just a playing for them all.

i could handle it if we were never really close and things broke smoothly, cause really, how close could we have been?

also theres gotta be some time between the break up and the hook up
you cant break up with someone then date their friend next weekend, thats just wrong, its gotta be a month or two AT LEAST.

Ya, I was involved in something like that.....
Cough Cough....
It didn't bother me that my friend took my sloppy seconds, but hey, i'm just a pig with girls anyway..... lol J/K

I'm marrying her and we aren't friends anymore. I'm not sure if one had anything to do with the other situation.

My last gf and I dated for about a year and then about 2 or 3 months after, she showed interest in one of my best friends brothers. Now I know he's a good guy so that wasn't an issue and he did even ask me beforehand if it would be ok and i told him "It's not my decision you do what you think is right" and he went for her and they are still together since July or August I think. So after careful consideration and deliberation to finding the answer to the question about whether it's right or wrong. I've concluded.............I dunno.

Depends..... I was going to once, even asked permission from my friend to date his ex, but never did it... it just seemed "wrong" for some reason... even though it really isn't!

Here's the way I see it... the persons EX is and EX, so dating them shouldn't matter, especially after consultation! Now if you break two ppl up, or steal the person from a friend then it's wrong.... IMO I would break my friends arms if he cheated, stole, had my gf break up w/me, become my ex, and go out w/ him... it would really piss me off and there would be a serious lack of trust after that!
