Good way to motivate in this weather - Click HERE for Original Thread

I hate this weather.  I feel like I can't do anything in it.  I never want to venture anywhere because that would require going outside, let alone leave my bed.  How can I beat this considering it's putting an extreme damper on my exercise schedule, (and the pudgies on the sides are proving it) and make myself more motivated to actually BE active in this weather?

you can run to ur destinations rather than take the car/bus/LRT....then u can get:
A)Exercise
B)Fresh Air

I purchased a recumbant exercise bike for home and it's great..  cost me $200 but I can watch tv and brun calories.  If you have steady hands and good eyes you can even read with it.

I totally recommend it (Markis who used to weigh 180 and now weighs 157)

whoa! you lost 23lbs from one of those exercise machines???
incredible, i thot they were all junk

it's hard to get yourself motivated in such crappy weather
best thing to do is find an indoor activity you like
play some sports
do some aerobics, if you can take on a treadmill without falling face first go for it!

but MY main form of winter exercise (and sometimes summer) is the ergometer (erg=rowing machine)

Exercise and a healthy diet are key to losing weight.  Too many people try to just lose weight by eating less and not excercising, but that'll never work, not to mention you are always hungry <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://asianet.ca/images/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

umm by the way.. WOOHOOOO it's FRIDAY !!!!!!!! hehe

Mark - 200 for a recumbnant bike??  Is it a good one?  not one that'll break in a little while?  Whered' u get it from and what brand?

Markis
Well not just on the bike of course!

If you've followed my thread in the Health forum the diet was really important too.

I reached my goal in less than 3 months.  If anyone is interested I can elaborate on the diet and exercise.

I bought the bike from Walmart for $190.  I saw the same bike at Superstore but not sure what the price is.  Its a belt driven bike so its a little wonky at heavy load, but I go real light but for 60 minutes.  I've put on a lot of use and havn't had any problems.

I've always wanted to buy exercise equipment but never could find it affordable.  Plus, at this point I'm not sure if I should buy any more clutter just in case I move *kee kee*  It's just such a pain in the ass to drag myself to the gym in blistering cold weather especially when i don't have a car!  *grrr*
