A beautiful day with some time off.... What's a guy to do? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Cyanide Ride
Grab your gat and do some shooting at Spruce Grove!

STiPWR
They let you bring 30round magazines on the range?

GOT SE-R
I would love to do that. But I don't own any guns :tear:

Orzel_pl
What kind of bullpup is that? TAR?

GOT BOOST
You should have given me a call.

I would love to unload a few rounds. :D

JoshP2002
Wow, that would be quite the experience.

euro777
it was a nice day today, i didn't get to blast any rounds but i sure did take the scenic route on my lunch break!!

No, those are the 5/30 mags (they're pinned to 5 rounds) So long as you cannot load more than 5 rounds into the mag, you are good to go.

It's called a Tavor made by the Israelis. Funny thing is, what constitutes a "bullpup" is technically illegal in Canada. The odd thing is, this rifle isn't even restricted. This baby is classed as a "non-restricted" meaning if you have are a goin' huntin' you can use this bad boy. Shooting deer? reach for the Tavor, Gopher hunting? you can call on the Tavor.

I am one of the few people to have one in Edmonton so far and someone i know is bugging me to sell it to them. I just might take them up on it.

After all the waiting, I am somewhat disappointed in it.

jordanturbo
Do you by chance work at a post office?

Casanova
Or attend school?

Blackout-spec
i did kinda the complete opposite, i went and played an awesome round of golf at Northern Bear.

I was in Spruce today as well. But I was walking through leaf covered trails with my GF

i got a buddy from 3VP that goes to the spruce grove range quite regularly(obviously not this season, he was over here).

takes his AR short-barrel there. I'm lookin at gettin an AR as well once i get back and my car is paid off.

what are your opinions on that sight, i prefer the EOtech 512 and 552 personally.

I have alot of time off racked up because I don't take many holidays

In all honesty, that Meprolight that comes on the Tavor is a pure piece of shit. There are no purchase options without it and it's adds about $550 to the price of the rifle.

During bright day usage (as those pictured) the dot is completely washed out (orange dot) during low light the fibre does not pick up enough ambient light to illuminate the dot. For longer ranges, the dot is just too big out to 100 yards. All in all, not very impressive.

My sight of choice is the Trijicon Acog TA31with a fixed 3x (am looking at getting a fixed 4x) for the clarity and eye relief. When you look through an Acog, everything else is just out of focus.

I have rediscovered long range shooting and it is quite fun.

The Tavor handles great, great ergonomics, kitty cat like recoil, and the balance is fantastic.

Where the rifle fails, sight (see above) and the trigger. It just feels like someone poured sand all over the trigger components. It is gritty, creeps and has a very heavy trigger pull. Cleaning it is a colossal task too.

I am probably going to sell the Tavor and get a Swiss Arms Classic green:

If you are looking at picking up another AR sometime, you should go and see Chris at P&D, his AR setup is sweet and has the right advice for those looking.

The Stig
P&D's awesome, they're a block away from where I'm sitting. I'm no gun pro, but I bought a replica Berretta P975 airsoft gun, and asked them to fix the sights for me.

Long story short, back in April I almost went for my non-restricted and couda had THAT bad boy? Hah, cool beans.

Cyanide Ride
Yessir, non-restricted is non-restricted!.

So I couldn't resist today, seeing as this bad boy was non-restricted as well :)

No sniper furniture:

Scope and cheekpiece:

baker_jeff
Very nice! I know who to see when the zombies show up and my airsoft guns just won't cut it! :p

ChromeDragon
I went out shooting too ... shot an 84 in glorious +26 conditions at Devon.

explict
Nice gun!!
Where do you get these guns?

T-LAV MRV

Cyanide Ride
P&D is where I go for most of my stuff :D

It's a Leupold M8 Scout 4x scope. Not terrible, but not too great either.

I am saving up for one of these:

Tough to find these.

Next time I go we'll try and hook something up. Might not be for awhile though, I am currently taking a course :(

T-LAV MRV
well i just got back, and have alot of time off, so hit me a pm or something, see if i can getmy buddies out as well, or go gopher hunting;).

mike
