| Thats cool. I hope for their sake, that more young people vote at this election. But ya, seems retarded that they have to register to vote or they are SOL. Doesn't seem very democratic to me. |

Canada's the same way. You have to register to vote.
Most people tick the little checkbox on their income tax returns to say "Pass my info to Elections Canada".
If you don't do that, then there's the door-to-door canvassers that come around and do it before the election.
Then, if you miss those guys, you have to register at the polling station on election day.
Registering to vote eliminates fraud and voters voting more than once, or in more than one place.
Interesting that they have swearing in a government-funded PSA. I guess they figure they won't have any older people complaining, since it's on the Internet. |
