Really? You didn't buy your first cassette until at least 87/88? That's pretty late and I thought you were older than me. :p

Did you just buy vinyl up until then?

ChromeDragon
Tape - Blue Oyster Cult, actually got it as something like an eighth birthday gift from a friend, cow bell was a big influence on my elementary years.

CD - Aerosmith - Big Ones

VHS - Honestly not sure about first, but one of the earliest was Batman for Christmas at around nine.

DVD - The Matrix, I didn't even have a normal DVD player yet, just one of the earliest computer DVD drives and no program that would properly play it.

Nobody is going to hate on Vanilla Ice or Kriss Kross. The fact that you felt the need to point out owning laserdiscs however ...

"Kriss Kross is gonna make ya ... JUMP JUMP!!!"

Cyanide Ride
Hey, laser discs were supposed to be the future and they were expensive!

FAIL. *:geezuz:

To the extreme I ROCK a mic like a vandal, light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.

I LOVED Vanilla Ice.

Had the "steps" in my hair, and the "knicks" from eyebrow.

Edit: For the record, I was in Elementary School at the time. Lol.

oldraven
I bought my brother Ride The Lightning for Christmas. My mum hated that. The only cassette I ever bought myself was The Beatles 64-70.

The first CD I bought was either a Beatles album or something by Bjork. Probably The Beatles White Album. *edit* No, it was The Smashing Pumpkins - Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness.

VHS? The Phantom Menace.

DVD, a five pack of mostly shitty Martial Arts movies.

I can recite the entire "Ice Ice Baby" track from memory. :)

I used to try and try and try to get the words down to Informer. I never could.:( I still CRANK it if I ever catch it on the radio. I'm a Bear listener, but if I'm in the vehicle at lunch time it's on "The Old School Bounce".
