I just called my insurance company to see how much more it would cost me to insure an beater SUV or truck for the winter and they said my insurance won't change from what my car is now. I have always heard that SUV's and trucks have a higher insurance rate.
The only issue I have had with them so far is that every 2 months my "married" discount and being over 25 gets removed somehow...but then I call and they credit me the next month.
Tell us stories of why you love/hate your insurance company |

| I like my insurance company (TD Meloche Monnex) for their reasonable rates...and then a discounted rate when I graduated from Nait :d |

I was once with Co-operators until they wanted $9000.00 a year for my car!!!
Now I am with AMA paying about $3500.00 a year!
I like how they let me park my car for the winter for virtually nothing. Even though Ford still owns 1/3 of the car!!
Actually last year I paid $4500.00 a year with a place called Manchester Chivers (Rogers) |

I'm with co-operators, with my new car I pay 1500 / yr full coverage...guy with accident, not driving for long (license for 3 years)
they seem to bend over backwards for me when I need something, so I won't be changing... |

I was with Co-op for my fifth ave, the rate wasn't bad, but they wanted $230/mo for the Durango.. I'm with TD now (I work for a University) and for $230 I get the Durango, the wife's neon, home insurance, my 2 sleds, and theft on my car hauler.
HMMMMMMm I wonder why I switched :P |

I believe this is because you said "beater", as in you would want basic liability and that is it. If you wanted things like collision, that would be a different story but from what I understand the basic PL/PD is the same for any vehicle since it is on a grid system. |

| So far so good for me. SGI Canada gave me kick ass rates on my home and car. |

Meloche Monnex is fucking money.
21, I was paying $600 a year on the Sil80 last year (that was on my own coverage, not parents), and I could drive their cars for free as well. |

I love my ING Insurance
$375/month for a Speed3, F-350 and our house, seems pretty reasonable to me. Thats full coverage on all vehicles for my wife and I.
I blew up a Kia earlier this year with the F-350 and joked about it with the adjuster, then my broker followed up with a call saying they were going to forgive the accident and pretend it didn't happen due to my previous clean driving history and current coverages with them. |

I'm with ING and they upped my rate about $50 this year. Next year when my renewal comes up I'll have to decide what I want to do..
I have two cars insured under them but one is on fire and theft, and it's about $1900/year |

| Well, I'm pretty indifferent to insurance in general but I've been with Allstate for awhile and they treat me pretty well. Also the new girl that's taking my policies is pretty cute. haha |
