Guy gifts? - Click HERE for Original Thread

V8Less Girl
what's some good suggestions for presents (b-day, any occasion etc) for guys.

what gifts would freak you out? (ie. a blender)

is a personal touch to a gift even acknowledged? or do you guys just like electronics?

cologne? is that still a fave? and if so..which kind? i'm clueless.

Transporter
cologne is still good gift ..but depends on the guy what he like.
electronics is good too (based on a budget though)

cool looking gizmo is good too (check maxim guy stuff)
lighters, beer glasses..etc

s2oooR
How bout something u both can do? ....mmmmm, indoor rock climbing? ...great way to check out his ass and him, yours ;) :P ......but then again, if he's not into that sorta stuff, im sure there's other things.... :)

REFLUX
V8Less Girl: hahahah love the nick!!

I would say it really depends on who this guy is to YOU.
if he's your bf then get him something more personal but by the sounds of it he sounds more like a friend.

Get him something practical/useful (unless he's the "fem" type and likes candles/trinkets/etc)

here's a list NOT based on budget:
gadgets/gismos
a nice wallet
a watch

I wouldn't recommend getting something like "a belt" unless he really wants one
nor socks, nor gloves
MAYBE a scarf.........idunno I'm just babbling now

redbaron303
be careful what you buy him for his car/truck/van/etc.... That's touchy grounds especially if it's the wrong item... :(

Wallets, Watches (they're great, I want a breitling :D), Electronic gizmos, I'm a fan of dvd's too (at least I could through one in and watch it when I had my gf w/ her being there next to me...)

Flex
If you know where he likes to shop gift certificates are always a good idea. especially if he you give him one from a auto place he shops at.....shows your paying attention to what he says about his hobbies.

V8Less Girl
I like the watch idea a lot, thanks for the input.

Does the expensiveness of a gift matter to guys? What do you guys feel when your gf gives you something with a bit more of a personal touch, not necessarily made I mean, but if you had mentioned a childhood story, like a favorite show or something, and the gift, while otherwise kinda :gay: maybe relevant? Would it be taken as a joke or something sweet?

these items depend on how much you wanna spend reflux!!!..you can a $40timex or $200 rolex..budget!!!

anyways... like reflux said..if he is Bf type then childhood story or personal be kinda sweet ..but if he is friend then be kinda awkward. but your choice!!

A 200$ rolex?!? That's pretty funny. :D

Yeah, the watch is a good idea.
a magazine subscription, maybe?

MH

V8Less Girl
yeah, it is for my boyfriend

redbaron303
romantic dinner for the two of you, make it personal?! Although that may be mundane if you do that lots with him anyhow :)

I think price, the thought that counts, and what it is will matter most differently to different guys. Materialistic, Romantic?

Don't laugh, a buddy of mine brought back a Silver Rolex from Yemen a few months for $50. We took it to a jeweler (a reputable one) and had it appraised, he said he couldnt tell if it was a fake and it has diamonds on the face for the numbers and he said they were real. Told us if its real its worth about $7500.

As for the gift money really doesnt matter. Its the thought, if you put some thought into the gift that means awhole lot more then the value of it.

The dealer must have spent too much time looking at the diamonds and not enough time noticing that the watch face said "Roleks".

To my surprise it turned out really well and he liked it a lot...*shrug*

A pack of chewing gum...

Really, I think it is irrelevant what you buy. It's the thought that counts, although I'm not a guy, so I don't know if that's true.

One of the best "guy" gifts my gf ever got for me is a LeatherMan. For those that don't know what a Leatherman is, it's a high quality fold out knife/plyer/tool. You can get them in the hunting/fishing area at Can tire. They come in diferent sizes and prices from about $50 to $120.

Along on same lines would be a Swiss Army Knife.

If you real want to personalise it You can get something engraved on it.

curtis_rak
Some ideas...

- I second the motion for Swiss Army knife or Leatherman
- Palm Pilot/PDA
- http://shopping.discovery.com/stores/servl...tnumber=P676668 (Cool gadget...)

- Cologne is nice too.

i agree. i'm not a guy but i had a guy [who was interested at the time] buy me a set of civic type r seat belt shoulder pads for my birthday and......i didn't know what to say because it's one of those things i wouldn't put into my car.

and honestly, tools would be a great idea! but that's just me. if i had a boyfriend and he bought me a gear wrench set. i would PEE my pants because damn, those things are DAMN HANDY.

Hey I don't know if you are still looking for present ideas? I know some of the best gifts I have gotten were from my gf. She got me something we had talked about(childhood memorie or something I have always wanted to do) but she added something to make it from her. Example I told her I didn't have too many thing to hang on my christmas tree, so she bought me a santa but put our first christmas on the bottom. I know a little fem but it kick ass, the point is that if you put time and effort in to it and it shows it will be a winner. I don't know about the other guys but I'm happy to get anything period.
