This thread is meant so you can post IMO of what traffic laws or any other law for that matter, that you think are cash cows, just meant to make revenue for the Province or Municipality...
In Ontario we use to call it Provincial Revenues Court, as some stupid laws are just that, they dont make sense or are far to grey to really be respected...
I do not like the Stunting Laws out here in YK, with real no definition it can be abused and applied to all sorts of things everytime I hear that term I think Cash Cow.
whats your Beef? |

| enlarged exhaust tickets are probably the main ones here. i can understand if they get you for excessive noise, but enlarged exhaust is bullshit. |

isnt that only in effect during school hours, and why would you speed in a school zone anyways? |

I agree and disagree with that. I think that in elementary school zones it is good cause the kids there love to just run across the road. But high schoolers should know better and if they get hit it is their own fault. |

If you speed in school zones while there are kids around you're a huge douche.
I agree on the exhaust outlet one. If the car isn't loud it's ridiculous to give a ticket for it. That's like giving someone a ticket for having wheels you don't like. |

I was being sarcastic!
Also, I have to agree that exhaust laws are the worst. It should be a noise level law or something. I believe that how loud it is decibel wise is a component but its just another way for them to hand out tickets.
I think it should be purely based on noise emission. The tip does not make it louder. Bikes with 2" pipes are alot louder than a car with a 4.5" or something.. bs law. |

| I will state the obvious one's - redlight cameras, photo radar, and laser radar. |

I don't mind red light cam's they have a justifiable reason that is obvious, I don't like photo radar at all and I really really hate the lil photo boxes they got here in sherwood park.
Theres a school zone area infact it's a long area were the speed sign's go 30,40,20,30,50,30,50 like wtf and a few weeks ago I saw 2 photo radar trucks and photo boxes along the same 10 block area milkin away, granted theres 3 schools in the area but thats not enforcement at all.
I saw one photo truck trying to find a good line on the new traffic circle they got going on here, if any of don't know there replacing some intersections with traffic circles here for some dam reason and milking money to build them. |
