I know there was a huge topic about this a while ago.
PPL in that topic were saying how they didn't pay their Impark tickets and nothing ever happened...
Well I have *two* (apparently) tickets from those assholes!
The first offence apparently happened on April 19, 2003 @ 1:23am in their lot on 10001 - 109st (lot 44). I've driven up 109st and I can't seem to see this lot (unless it's the one at the globe nightclub?) and I refuse to pay this ticket because they can not offer me anything inlcuding a copy of the original ticket showing that I was there. I know I wasn't there because I had an AM exam April 20th @ GMCC....
THe next ticket was given to me on July 12, 2003 @ 12:41am at BP's on Jasper Ave... I was parked next to guys like SrBurg13, Uncle Ben, and probably another 10cars... I was the only one who received a ticket on my windshield. I threw this out anticipating not paying it b/c it's such bs since I was the only one to get a ticket...
Here's where the problem comes in, I don't have the money to pay these tickets to start with (especially the one I know I didn't get)... but they've recently sent the first ticket to "Canadian Bonded Credit Services" asking to them to collect their now $72.**.
This bs company CBCS keeps phoning my parents home roughly like 3 times/day. My father told them not to phone our house again because I cannot be reached there and they're harrassing him. They're really starting to piss my family off by making these useless automated phone calls and will not stop and refuse to contact me directly.
So what can be done about this, by what you've read does it sound like harrassment?! How can we get these knuckleheads to stop calling my parents residence???? What can happen since they sent this ticket to a collection agency? |

Tell your parents to tell the agency next time they call that you do not live there, you recently moved to oklahoma and give a fake #. Im dead serious about that.
Then after they might be like we need the money, and your parents will say i have nothing to do with it, i was not the person parked there. |

We did that... yet they persist in calling our home.... That's waht I took outta the other thread, you could tell them to buzz off or at least the owner of the residence could and threaten harrassment charges.... It worked for like a month, then they started calling again! |

i got a letter from the collection agency last year and i havent heard anything since then. tell you dad to try and get them to hang up because there was a collection agency that kept on phoning my mom about some $2200 internet charge and my mom just kept asking stupid questions and being kinda of rude and the guy hung up and they hevent called back since and that was about 3 years ago.
but that is just my .02 and that is all it is worth. |

It is harrassment if they call you more than 2x a day. And they cannot call you before 9am and after 9pm. Besides, be a man and talk to them yourself.
Tell them that before you hand over any money, you wish to see proof that you owe them anything (original tickets or whatever). When I got a letter from impark, I called them and told them that they were mistaken, they said they would lower the price, I said FU. I sent them a faxed copy of my work schedule (which I made up) in which it showed that I was working at the time. They never called me back since. Telling them a different number may not work, cause they got your number in the first place from the registries. |

I've already tried dealing w/ impark myself... I told them it wasn't my car, I told them I was at home sleeping for my 8am exam the next morning... No one else drives my car, and commercial plates are easy to mistake or miswrite...
They just don't listen. Nor does their collection agency...
I was told to write the collection agency a formal letter telling them to back off as they're harrassing me and the people that live at my parents residence.
Simply asking for proof of parking there doesn't work with them.... that was about 4 months ago I requested a copy of my "parking ticket" and it has never arrived, but wall the notices and harrassing phone calls don't stop.
I'm getting frustrated with these jerks. I'm never hear to listen to them call, but my parents bitch me out because they have to answer the phone or screen calls so they don't hear from these ppl.....
I guess I'll try the letter thing, see if that works... |

| from their perspective they probably rent that property, what if EVERYONE said no, f@ck you i won't pay the ticket, i'll park here all I want... they eventually lose enough money they have to close, a new building goes up, there must be a lot of pressure on these places in the downtown area for their spot, just put in the extra loonie next time or suck it up and pay the 57 dollars, do you wanna know what i used to do to ppl a while back when they owed me money? they will send it to a collections agency and it will f@ck up your credit, especially if you're a 0 star or 1 star with next to no regular payments, that's a lot worse then gettin your thumb broken, pay the ticket  |

Well my friend i got like 9 of them from parking at the lot across from my school, it's been 6 months since the last one and the companty "City Collection" agency kept calling my house I picked up and threatened them I really scared the shit out of them cause the guy was like ummmmm, sorry for disturbing you, just yell untill you cant no more then they'l try a few more times and thats it.
Worked for me
Or you can give them you cell number wait for them to call once talk to them and remember that number or save it so you know who it is when they call and just ignore it. After 2 weeks of not getting through to you they'll call once a month. |

well i didn't read the whole thread but you parked illegally and you got a ticket right? so you're gonna have to pay it eventually.
now i don't know what you think you are accomplishing by hiding from the collections agency, all that will happen is they'll write off the money and it'll go down on your credit report until you pay it back.
so you're kinda screwin yourself by doing that. just remember the collections guys WANT you to pay, it's better for them, so the balls in your court really. Call them up, say this is what i can pay, when i can pay it, and go from there.
If the time comes and you still can't pay, call em again and make more arrangements, you can string this along for a long time usually, but if you just ignore their calls they don't really care, they'll eventually just stop calling and send it to the credit bureau. |
|
|
| littledan |
| i don't think they can affect your credit rating. all they can do is take you to small claims court if i'm not mistaken. |
|
|
| Z3r03rr0r |
| they can't screw with your credit rating on the premise of they never extended you any credit so have no say over it. They are a collections agency that bought the right the ticket money from impark as impark didn't want to be bothered chasing you around eventually it becomes unproffitable for the collector to pursue the matter anymore at which point they give up and stop calling altogether. |

THat's the whole thing.... You gotta read it. I DID NOT park illegally, they must have made a "typo" or something w/ the license plate of the car they were getting...... It's an odd situation!
As long as these pricks can't mess around with my credit rating, that's all that counts.... in that case they'll deffinatly not see any money from me.... :) |

| In July I parked in one of there lots right beside my work, when I went to put money in the machine I realized I had no change so I ran into my work and got some loonies, I come back and the guy has his little key pad out standing beside my car, but no ticket written. I tell him i just ran in to get change, he says no big deal doesnt give me a ticket and drives away. So today I get a letter saying I havent paid the ticket I got that day! Those fuckers. They expect me to pay 70 bux for a ticket I truthfully didnt get! They havent heard the last of me, I gotta park in their lot every day I work and I dont wanna get towed. |

That's how they work..... I have words for this company and their lowlife employees.... hiding tickets and/or not properlly issuing tickets... I wonder if THEY get commission from writting tickets....
We should all team together and force impark outta edmonton... and we'll create a new better parking company...:) |

| Insomniac |
I once spoke with an impark ticket guy and he told me that they do get a a commission. He said that there were some corrupt ticket writers that would record vehicle information, and issue tickets to these cars at a later date. This happened to me and my friend once. We both parked in a lot, got tickets in the mail weeks later saying our payments were overdue. We did park in that lot illegally, but never recieved tickets on our windows.
3 weeks later we got tickets for another parking lot, down town at like 2pm on a thursday night. Those ones were BS.
The impark ticket guy told me that if you complain about that ticket, they nullify it, and the ticket guy that wrote it gets a black mark on his record. Enough black marks and he gets fired. Personally I'd just rather knock him out, shit, I'd even pay the ticket if they let me do that  |

Chris, a friend of mine went through the same deal eventhough they had the color of the car wrong and the make wrong but aslong as they've got the licence they've got you.
I had those dippies calling me at one point for a ticket I can't remember for like $69.00 back in April, but I just had enough of there annoying recorded messages calling me I just cleared it and moved on.
I understand at the moment money IS as issue so like another guy stated to find some sort of payment plan to start on, that would stop the calls atl east knowing that your making the effort.
How much are the tickets combined? Send them $20.00 /per week to shut them up.
See you on the 19th |

They've bumped the tickets to about $70.00/each....
My tickets sound almost exactly what insomniac just said....
but I phoned and complained and I had some jerk on the phone... when I phoned he said "too bad, pay it."
I told him, "too bad, you can't prove it, I'm NOT paying it"
that's all I 've personally said to them.... Oh well.... it'll get resolved soon enough. |

| I called their head office today to try and get out of this ticket. What a bunch of pricks. They basically told me I couldnt do anything and I was screwed. I asked to talk to their supervisor but apparantly they cant put poeple on hold for the supervisor, and if I wanted to leave a message they would get back to me in 3-4 days. So they hung up on me twice because they couldnt transfer me to anyone higher than themselves. If I treated customers like that I would have my ass kicked out of the store so fast..... |

Why not call them and tell them you have a MONTHLY pass? I've got a monthly pass and have had several tickets annulled. Just read off the number off a monthly pass and the lot # and tell them your ticket number. Of course, be sure you know the name of the guy who owns the monthly pass. The local impark people are so stupid that they don't give a cr@p about it.
And the monthly passes are SO easy to counterfeit... makes me wanna make a couple of "spares" of my pass for kicks... |
