Si vs. SR - Click HERE for Original Thread

What is the difference, if any, between a Prelude Si or SR?

3rd gens had an " Si " model with a 2.0 L engine pumping out 140 hp?

4th gens came with an " Sr " model with a 2.3 L engine pumping put 160 ponies.

Both models were available with a 4 wheel steer option.

3rd Gens in 90 and 91 had SR models. It was the top of the line in those years. Then in 93 is became the basic car.

In the states there was no SR for 3rd Gen... it was still called the SI.

I'm no expert, though - I drive a dub.

if your talking about 4th gens, si and sr are the very same. in the states they call the sr the si

HKSpowers
Si is a 4WS and the Sr I dont think gave the option for 4WS thats why they called it an Si other wise there'd be no difference between Si and Sr

Right. There was no 4th gen SI in this country. 4th gens in canada came in S, SR and SR-V. In the states it was Base, SI and VTEC i think

I dont know if thats right causeif their exporting the cars to Canada they have to maintain the proper models. Cause if an Si is only sold in the states then the one I own would come with the speedo in Mph and not Km/H like it does.

Very interesting indeed.

So you're saying that you have a 4th gen Si? What engine did it originally come with?

Yes I have a 4th Gen Si, but the original motor is a H23A1, the motors are the same between SI and SR the differences must be in the ammentities

My registration even says 93 Prelude Si
I believe if you bought an SR with 4WS it was classified an Si
