Hey guys i just picked up my 91 dx hatchback today, everything is stock on it, and i was wondering what people usually do for mods to these cars.

suggestions?

B16A1. I believe it will be a bigger pain in the ass due to your car being a dx rather than an si but these engines are dirt cheap.

ya i heard theres some extra work to go from dx to that new motor, im not sure im ready for a motor swap yet although that much horsepower would be nice.

im suprised it goes so well for the h.p it has.

Where are these dirt cheap??

superpirate25
I guess dirt cheap was the wrong expression to use. What I meant is that the first gen B16 with the cable tranny are relatively inexpensive comapared to most engine swaps. It's probably the cheapest way besides nitrous to make a 4th gen quick. But as I stated earlier, if the civic is like the crx you will have extra difficulties with the fuel injection if it's not an Si.

is it just because of the wiring differences between multiport and that dual port?

I believe that's the main problem but I kow it can still be done. I'm no expert on the subject though. It wouldn't hurt to check out some 4th gen sites for information as well. Here's one to start you off. Click

Actually I would put a ZC motor in it.. its a lot chaeper and its only 10 less HP. also you don't have to wait for your power like you do with the B16a1 and the vtec cross over point. You should ask questions like this at the Cevo board.

I would recommend, LED wind shield washer sprayers and a HUGE fartcannon muffler to make your car as loud as possiable
