GM Syncromesh tranny fluid. - Click HERE for Original Thread

littledan
Just put some in tonight. Damn monkeys at Alberta Honda put the filler plug on to about 200 lb-ft. It is supposed to be ~30 lb-ft. Anyways, the fluid feels better than my honda mtf. It is now labelled as ac delco syncromesh. I'll update on how it feels when it's cold in the morning.

regular syncromesh or the Friction Modified?

littledan
ahhh.. car feels wicked this morning in the cold. much better than the honda mtf i had in there. i put in the regular syncromesh.

GM Part # 12345349 now AC Delco # 10953465

Anyone try the friction mod stuff?

So does it require less effort to get into gear from neutral? (especially first)
Also, where can you pick some up?
Thanks

littledan
overall it just feels smoother and with less effort going into all gears... also got rid of the very slight grind i had going into 2nd in the cold... my friend picked it up from the gm dealership in spruce grove. thereis also some at nicholson on the south side.

Thanks. Is it an easy DIY project?
