that's 1100 h.p with the 3 stages of nitrous.. he ran it all motor down the track at about +4 which is, as you know, shitty for traction
the hostility between lino and karl/conroy is b/c of some deal, I have no knowledge of it so i'm not going to comment on it
and all i'm gonna say is i can't wait for sunday, to see everyone down there at the tracks, last v8less event of the year, it'd be nice to see everyone out there, all the dsm boys and the shop cars and everyone else :bigthumbup: |

I have some knowledge of this from a few different ppl.... I have some knowledge of some other events and things that have happened involving certain "8 second" car builders.....
The point is, that has absolutely f@ck all to do with this thread! There is no need to bring up what you thought was a sour deal and isn't even a current thing, it doesn't involve any of us here... Titan and you put up a thread about their car being at the track and showing pix of it staging and burning out. They said it ran a low 13.0, so until they post something up proving a time (ie: timeslip) we'll just have to take their word on it.
Give the guy somewhat of a break... at least he's trying to build an 8 second *import* race car... That's more than a lot of us are doing, shop or no shop. Lino take your time and make sure you get the car running right before you try an 8 second pass and blow that thing up... I'm sure you can do it and one day when you feel your ready then you can prove to all the disbelievers that your car is great... :blink:
Congrats for at least getting it out to the track, hopefully you'll be there this Sunday continuing to break it in and getting used to driving it! :) |

That car is awesome and Lino has put a ton of time, money and sweat into it. And a big "hell ya" to his wife for supporting him thru this all. Shes an awesome girl for letting him pursue his dream.
As for Lino's time, so who cares what hes running at right now. Hes still tuning the car and getting used to how it handles. Give the guy a congratulations for getting it out there. If you would have seen it a few months ago you would be in awe of how much was done to it in such a short time.
So give the guy some support, hes gonna put the edmonton import scene on the map for having canadas fastest import. He may not break that record today or even tomorrow, but he will.
So Lino who cares what everyone thinks.........GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shut the f@ck up, when you bring something out that compares then you can talk. Even with the problems they were having today they would have been faster than your Integra. I'm getting really sick of you f@cking benchracers sitting up there judging everyone when you won't get out there and do it yourselves. That's the thing though, Lino doesn't normally talk smack, he just defends himself when others are traching him. If I were him I'd get pissed off too, at least he's trying. With all the people constantly putting Titan down I wouldn't be surprised if people less dedicated to the scene would have shut it down long ago and abandoned the project altogether. It's taking time, great things always do!

Indeed he is, sadly the car is no longer around.
I get where he's coming from, but you can't build a car like Lino has and expect to run a 10 second pass your first time down the track. You have so many different systems in the car that I think getting them all to work together has to be a logistics nightmare! Let me know when you're heading out to the track next, I'll take vid and pics for you.

I assume you are talking about our earth shaking 16.0 second pass the first run of the day. That was an "all motor" pass, we blew an I/C coupler coming out of the burnout box. Consistency and speed are always the key.

Obviously you have no idea about a real race car as others have said. Throwing a K&N and a muffler on your car doesnt make it a race car. Lino has built his car from the ground up.....everything on that car has to be tested and tuned. It may not be today or next week....but Lino will have that car rippin' like its supposed to. It takes time to tune a high performance machine like that.
