Hit and run without the hit..... - Click HERE for Original Thread

A friend was driving north on 97st around 134th ave in the center lane. A guy in the middle lane is pissed traffic is going slow decides to pull into his lane with out shoulder checking. To avoid the collision, my bud slams on the breaks and locks up his wheels, flips and slides his bike into the turning lane. ( its shared by both directions of traffic)

hes got damage to his bike, torn leather jaket and gloves, and the some road rash...

Witness sees what happens, pulls over to see if he is alright and notices that the guy who cut him off is taking off. He gets back in his car and chases after the guy, who he catches up to and motions him to pull over. Witness tells guy what just happened. Guy says" whatever " and goes home. Witness comes back to give statement and plate # to the police. Cop says that he will give a "hit and Run ticket". Friend cant get a hold of cop until thursday.(he is away)

Anyone ever have anything like this happen to them?

Buddy just got cut off, he probably did the right thing, he isn't going to win a game of chicken on a bike vs. a car.

That's a shitty deal.... make sure that this dude tracks down that asshole that cut him off and sues the fuckin pants off him for a new bike, gear, and body damage...

That's for sure. It's not just the motorcyclist's responsibility to ride responsibly, it's a drivers responsibility too!

PS Alliteration is fun :P

As much as I love them, this is the reason I don't want a bike. Retards!

I hate when that happens.

Making a lane change just before an intersection is one of the leading causes of accidents.

Time for your friend to sue!~That guy was a jerk!

SplineZ
yea sue him so that the insurance companys keep on having a reason to screw the rest of us for insurance

Ya know.. the driver should have atleast pulled over to see if he's ok, or something. But alas there was no collision, and im sure he could say the biker guy fucked up and dropped the bike himself. Nothing infact happened wrong except "fleeing the scene of an accident" (and that the car guy didnt shoulder check, but nobody does in this f@cking city)

Is there something in the Traffic Act that states something about "cut-offs"? Technically there was no collision. Although the dude was being an asshole about it, and should seriously get dinged hard for fleeing the scene of an accident etc.
