You're trained to huddle up in the fetal position and cry like a baby?
hehe
This is unfortunate, but I think it's sad that the only time a report comes out of Afghanistan is when it directly affects Canadians. How many Afghani's are dying every day from the ongoing conflict? Why aren't we hearing about them?
Chromey
P.S. This is just like the Palestine/Isreal conflict, the only time we hear about it is when Israeli's are killed. They have even referred to times when only Palestinians are killed as "times if peace". How sick is that? |

the reason canadians are there is to make peace.... thats why they get the publicity.... sure there are innocent civilians that die in afghanistan everyday.. but it was the terrorists in their country that initiated september 11th, and that is the price that they have to pay... it sucks i know but civilians die during war... that just how it is.. canada's involvment is the war on terrorism... not a war on afghanistan... at least thats what my medal says :D
also, i dont think people should say what is right or wrong unless they have personally been there themselves... not what cnn shows on t.v... the media is fixed, and full of lies.. the government shows the public what they want the public to see...... ok... i'm done.. before this turns into a huge flame war....
and stealth, how do you understand... you havn't even graduated highschool yet :fingersx: |

| lol no i dont mind the publicity of Canada but in the US & canada if one soldier dies its in the news but if they kill 20 arabs or somethin its like they dont say anything, but when we do shit we are terrorists and shit like that i mean its bullshit. I dont blame the armies of the USA or CAD but its stupid publicity. |

I figured you'd get that was exactly my point. This American media is destroying our world through misinformation and propaganda. I respect why Canadian soldiers are in the Middle East, not why American soldiers are there. Please don't confuse this with disrespect for the soldiers, this is all regarding leaders. Soldiers are just following orders. I don't respect George Bush in the least, but Jean Chretien has in large part gained my respect in regards to this "war on terrorism".

Cretiens decisions regarding the US' wars are the first things I've really agree
with him on. It was a smart move not to join Bushs stupid war and it will benefit us in the long run, mostly by separating us from the US which I see as a good thing. |

The Americans are the real problem in all of this, but as someone else mentioned, the US media puts a "we're wonderful" spin on everything.
When WWII ended, the Americans redrew all the borders in Africa right through the middle of tribal grounds, so tribes were split into multiple countries and some countries ended up with multiple tribes in them that hated each other.
They also set up Israel as a homeland for the Jews, and just told the Palestinians to get out. Was that any more fair to the Palestinians than what Hitler did to the Jews?
There have been more wars in the Middle East and Africa since WWII than there has been in all recorded history before WWII.
And now they're using their sole superpower status to push Saddam Hussein out of power, as if that gives them the right. Some African dictators are doing far more worse things to their people than Saddam ever did. Why did the Americans go after Saddam and not the African dictators? Because, as Carter said on ER on TV last night, "because there's no oil in the Congo".
I don't have any problem with the American people, but I'm not a big fan of the American Government (does it show??) :D |
