slight fish tailing - Click HERE for Original Thread

Impulse
what would be the best way to stop the slight fish tailing when doing some motivated driving.... my first thought was to put on a huge ass potato peeler wing on the back any outher ideas

Learn to counter steer or get your right foot off the floorboard.

If you're FWD you should be happy your car doesn't go into terminal understeer

ChromeDragon
Well you can deal with it, take your foot out of the fun pedal a bit, or set your suspension up stiffer in the rear so it sticks harder.

Impulse
so that is a no to the spoiler then...... well i guess i could put some new springs on.... if i have to :tear:

JDC™
chances are your not going fast enough to put the downforce to use....plus you have to be rear wheel drive

Don't do that. Just unhook your rear anti-roll bar. You'll plow you front wheels into a curb in no time.

On a FWD, NEVER let off the gas on mid corner while "fishing" you WILL SPIN OUT.

You ass is moving faster than the front of the car, if you let off, the front will grab more traction and swing your fast moving ass right around on you.

Well, on an NX anyways.

Modulate the throttle and steering to get where you're going.

That or slow down more through the turns and get some suspension tuning ;)

Insomniac
I would definetly go for the wing

You forgot the important part ducky :P

You have a longer wheelbase than me or an Impulse, I think you can get away with it.

ChromeDragon
My comment wasn't to let off mid corner, it was to let off so that you don't reach those speeds where this happens in the first place.

wimp

last year i puled a 360 at 140kph at the ice rally cross

you dont need to worrie untill your going backwards

SplineZ
How about driving normally until a corner that doesnt have a curb and experiment? :)

Find a large parking lot after it rains.. make sure its smooth.. and try it out.. Or wait until winters around...

I know to keep my front end grippin around a high speed corner, i have to floor it. If i let off my gas, my ass end will swing around and thats bad..

Impulse
well i wont have to worry about that until next weekend because i need to replace my inside shaft seal because i am leaking like a sive and i dont think i want to drive it alot.

Z3r03rr0r
the impulse were/are notorius for fishtailing especially in winter add some weight to the back, some people like sandbags I would suggest a couple of subs and an amp

Good point. You've got to store them somewhere until the ground thaws in the spring.
