Is it illegal to stay in the intersection - Click HERE for Original Thread

Today I was on my way to work and I had the green arrow and the traffic going the other way had the big red light. Anyways, I start going then upon completing my turn, I hear a LOUD ass tire screech. So I look to my right and notice a car skidding towards me. She just clipped my back bumper. She didn't even scratch the bumper but either way, an accident is an accident and I still would like to talk about it. Anyways, I pulled out of the intersection into a residential area because I wanted to talk to her. But as I'm getting out, this bitch takes off. I tried to get a plate number but she sped away too fast and there was a big ass bush blocking my view. Anyways, she was talking on her cell phone AND ran a red light. The light was red for about 30 seconds or even more already. So clearly, she was in the wrong. Anyways, next time no matter the size of the collision, I'm going to stay parked RIGHT in the intersection to prevent a driver running away like this. Is this legal? Even if it's not nearly big enough to report? If not, then I'll walk up to their car, and get them to hand me a license until their in PARK in front of me safely out of the intersection.

like you said an accident is an accident. As long as there was a collision you are allowed in the intersection. I've asked a cop that before but not in the same circumstance.

even though very minor go file a hit and run complaint....give the popo as much info as possible. that way it covers YOUR ass!!
